BROKEN ARROW, OK -- What police are calling a feud between neighbors turns deadly early Tuesday morning in Broken Arrow.
Police say the shooting happened just after midnight in the 400 block of West Miami Street.
Broken Arrow Police arrested 31-year old Josh Vaughn shortly after the shooting. He is being held on a complaint of first degree murder.
The neighborhood was buzzing in disbelief. Police say Vaughn shot his next door neighbor six times.
"The poor guy who got shot he wasn't moving when I got out there," said neighbor Matt Little.
Police officers say Vaughn was playing pool in his garage with a few friends when 31-year-old Tommy Lovell walked over.
The Vaughn and Lovell argued.
Police say it something the two neighbors had been doing for weeks.
Meanwhile, police officers spent part of Tuesday morning literally, digging for clues.
"Based on some rounds that we found in the ground and the way they were in the ground indicates he was shot while on the ground itself," said Broken Arrow Police Sgt. J.D. Martin.
Neighbors say none of what happened early Tuesday makes any sense.
Broken Arrow Police say both Vaughn and Lovell had been drinking and the shooting is a sobering reminder that drinking and guns don't mix.
This is Broken Arrow's first homicide of 2009.
