TAHLEQUAH, OK -- A 36-year old Muskogee man has been arrested in connection with a strangulation death.
Tahlequah Police say they initially arrested Bryan Luethje on an outstanding warrant. While being questioned, Luethje told detectives that he had choked 43-year-old Jess Nofire Jr. during a drunken argument.
Nofire's body was found in the cellar of a vacant Tahlequah house.
The state Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide Tuesday afternoon.
Luethje is being held in the Cherokee County jail on a second-degree murder complaint.
His bond is set at $250,000.
