Dealing With The Storm's Aftermath

PICHER, Okla. (AP) -- Residents in Picher picked through debris for mementos and belongings on Sunday after a tornado ripped through the northeastern Oklahoma town, leaving at least six dead.

State officials and neighbors were also searching for survivors and working to recover the remains of those killed.

Authorities say two of those killed were found in a vehicle in a lagoon, the body of another occupant was found in a nearby tree and a 13-year-old passenger survived and was hospitalized. 

They also say two women were found near their homes; another woman was found a block from her home and her baby, initially thought dead, survived and was hospitalized.

Classes have been canceled on Monday for students who attend the Picher-Cardin Schools and Quapaw Schools.
