An oil field worker is dead after an accident at a well site in central Oklahoma. The accident happened Wednesday night near Piedmont in Canadian County. That is northwest of Oklahoma City.
Authorities say three workers were pulling pipe out of the ground when the pipe snagged part of the oil rig. That forced a 1,800-pound object up from the ground. It hit the platform where the men were working.
One man died at the scene. One worker is critical condition. The third worker is in fair condition.
