(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A bill that could lead to private development at Lake Texoma is heading to the governor.

The bill won final legislative approval by passing the Senate and supporters say Governor Brad Henry supports the bill.

It would allow the state to try to buy US Army Corps of Engineers land that is now leased to the state for the Texoma Lodge and Resort. The state would then lease the land to a private developer.

The bill allows the Commissioners of the Land Office to use money from its $1-billion trust fund to buy the land. Officials say preliminary discussions have been held with the Corps of Engineers.
