How prepared are we in the event of an emergency in downtown Tulsa? That's what a disaster drill held Tuesday night will tell authorities.
Firefighters and soldiers got together for the mock drill. Firefighters were told there was a small explosion on the 43rd floor of the Williams Tower - with multiple victims becoming seriously ill.
This training exercise is designed to provide a realistic practice environment to improve the skills of firefighters.
Captain Hubert Rouse, Tulsa Fire Dept: "A win win for us and actually a win win for the citizens of Tulsa. Anytime we're sharp and we have an opportunity to train, it just makes us better at what we do."
About two dozen firefighters and hazardous materials crews took part in the mock disaster. They'll also participate in another statewide coordinated disaster drill scheduled for May.
