OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Gov. Frank Keating became a grandfather Thursday.

The governor's daughter, Carrie Leonard, gave birth to a baby girl at OU Medical Center. Catherine Laughlin Leonard was born at 1:41 a.m.

The Independence Day baby weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces, and measured 19 inches.

Keating spokesman Dan Mahoney said the new mother and father, Ryan Leonard, were doing well.

It was the first grandchild for the governor and first lady Cathy Keating.
