(Big Cedar-AP) -- LeFlore County authorities say the body of an unidentified man has been found in the Ouachita National Forest in eastern Oklahoma.

Sheriff's Investigator Rick Wilson says the body was found near U-S Highway 259, south of the Big Cedar community and near the Three Sticks monument.

Wilson believes the body is that of a man authorities were searching for nearly two weeks ago. Wilson received a tip on February 10th that the body of a murdered man was left in the Three Sticks area, but a four hour search failed to find the body.

Wilson says the investigation is being given to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

O-S-B-I spokeswoman Kym Koch says the body will be sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy and identification.
