(Kellyville-AP) -- A little money, some love and a brush are all that's needed to give some wild animals a new home.

The wild horses and burros captured by the federal government on western lands are being offered for sale in the Bureau of Land Management's adoption program.

One horse brought a top price of $340 at auction last weekend near Kellyville.

Most of nearly 100 wild mustangs went for less than half that, as did 25 wild burros.

Others will be taken to Helena this weekend for auction.

Anyone interested can see the animals Friday morning and on Saturday.

The minimum bid is $125 and there is an application process.

The bureau began the program because of an overabundance of wild mustangs and burros on federal lands.
