(Charlotte, North Carolina-AP) -- Charges are going to be filed against a teammate of Bobby Phills -- the N-B-A player who was killed in a car crash last month in Charlotte, North Carolina. Authorities say Phills was racing with teammate David Wesley -- at speeds of more than 100 miles an hour -- when Phills lost control, crossed the highway and hit oncoming traffic.
Wesley's attorney says he's been told that Wesley will be charged with misdemeanor counts of racing and reckless driving. It's not clear when the charges will be filed. They're each punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Wesley is a guard for the Charlotte Hornets, the team on which Phills played.
