OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Members of the Oklahoma Silver-Haired Legislature will meet this week at the Capitol to learn about how to be advocates for the state's senior citizens.

More than 600,000 senior citizens live in Oklahoma.

More than 120 volunteer representatives, senators and spouses are expected for the meeting of the nonpartisan group

The group was formed in 1981 and has proposed measures that were passed into law by the state Legislature, including a law requiring better staffing in nursing homes.
