COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) _ Oklahoma center Courtney Paris is in Colorado this week, trying to cement a spot on USA Basketball's national team for players under age 21.
The 19-year-old is one of 14 finalists competing for 12 spots on the team. The final two players will be cut before the team leaves for France on Saturday.
Paris was chosen as the college player of the year last year by The Associated Press after averaging 23.5 points and 15.9 rebounds for the Sooners.
She's already a member of the U.S. senior national team.
The under-21 team will play in a tournament in France next week and then travel to Moscow for the world championships that begin on June 29th.
