OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A new law taking effect next month will allow state agencies to pay some of the college student loan costs of full-time state employees. Scott Barger with the state Public Employees Association says state workers can earn up to $5,000 each year to pay on their student loans. The law limits the payments to $15,000 for each employee.
Barger says the law is an effort to retain state employees who may be recruited by private companies which promise to pay some of their college loans.
