SEATTLE (AP) _ A freshman University of Washington baseball player found dead in his dorm room in February died from an accidental drug overdose, the King County medical examiner's office has ruled.

Post-mortem toxicology tests revealed that Rob Brasier, 19, had cocaine and opiates in his system, investigator David Delgado said after results were made public on Monday.

Brasier was found dead in his room at UW's McMahon Hall on Feb. 28.

The 6-foot-2, right-handed pitcher was recruited by several colleges. He was a National Merit Scholar who graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, Texas, with a 4.2 grade-point average before enrolling at the UW.

Brasier's sister, Karen Brasier, told The Seattle Times in March that her brother struggled with depression in his teens, and that he was hit with sporting and academic setbacks after arriving at the UW.

Brasier was suspended from the baseball team in mid-January because his grades weren't good enough, The Times reported.
