OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Former state Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher was released from the Oklahoma County jail Monday morning. A judge in Oklahoma City, agreed to release Fisher on the conditions he stay at home unless going to a doctor, to visit his attorney or for exercise. He will no longer be allowed to leave home for work.
Fisher was arrested last Wednesday for violating the terms of his appeal bond. Prosecutors say Fisher traveled without permission from his parole supervisor and failed to take a required tracking device when he did travel.
Fisher was convicted in February 2006 of embezzlement and perjury and sentenced to three years in prison but had been free while appealing the conviction.
