Cherokee County rescue volunteers are worried about residents near the town of Peggs.
After six days without power and water, families are pouring into the volunteer fire station to pick up bottled water donated by the Cherokee Nation. But storm debris has cut off other residents from the town and officials are unable to make contact.
Scott Pettus with Cherokee County Emergency Management: “We're trying to get word to these people and from these people just to see exactly how they are doing right now the communication lines are down."
Officials say the hope to have power restored to the area sometime Friday.
