UNDATED (AP) Oklahoma linebacker Rufus Alexander was named to The Associated Press third-team All-America team Tuesday.

Alexander is the only Oklahoma college player named to the All-America teams.

He was named earlier The AP Big 12 defensive player of the year and was chosen conference defensive player of the year in voting by league coaches.

Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith is the first-team All-America quarterback while Heisman runner-up Darren McFadden of Arkansas is first-team running back.
