ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) _ Investigators say it could take weeks to learn what caused a 7-month-old boy to die in a mobile home where he lived with his mother and her boyfriend, who are being held on child neglect charges.
Ardmore Police Captain Leroy Johnson says investigators who recovered Xavier Otsuka's body on August 5th found no outward signs of trauma.
Police found the boy after they were called to the trailer occupied by the infant's mother, 21-year-old Jennifer Pfleger, and her boyfriend 22-year-old Joseph Wilson.
The baby's body was subsequently sent to the state Medical Examiner for an autopsy..
Pfleger and Wilson were arrested within hours after the dead baby was found. Johnson says a preliminary investigation revealed the child had been left unattended for about 12 hours.
