STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma's CareerTech system is approved for a $1-million grant from the US Department of Labor.

The money will benefit CareerTech's Skills Centers division, which provides occupational training throught state and private prisons.

CareerTech is one of about 16 organizations out of 168 applicants nationwide to share 15.6 million dollars from the Labor Department. The money will be used to prepare young offenders for successful entry into the work force.

A spokeswoman for CareerTech says there are about two dozen Skills Centers in state and private prisons.
