The Tulsa Fire Department quickly solved the mystery behind an unknown substance found Monday inside a package at Tulsa's Army Corp of Engineers building near 11th and 101st East Avenue.
The package was sent from a known source, but corp workers still had to follow procedure. Hazmat crews were called in to test the substance.
They determined it was Sephadex and wasn't harmful. Tulsa Fire Captain Larry Bowles: "sephadex is a compound commonly used in desalting procedures and it may possibly be a moisture absorbing type of material."
No one was injured and things quickly returned to normal.
