Several businesses in Oklahoma City have been forced to close due to coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions.
Entrepreneurs at the Paseo Arts District are asking people to stay loyal to local businesses, even while in quarantine.
Like many other shops and or galleries, Eden’s Boutique is now closed to customers.
“I’m hanging in there. Obviously, it’s scary for all of us, but I’m going into work every day because there’s lots to do,” Owner Eden Turrentine said.
Amanda Bleakley is the executive director of the Paseo Arts Association. She recommends keeping any necessary commerce local, when possible.
“Several of the restaurants are closed, but there are about six that are still doing curbside and to go,” Bleakley said.
Even some retailers, like Eden’s Boutique and Betsy King Shoes, are doing some curbside pickups for customers.
Trying to focus on the positive, Turrentine is using this time to create an online shopping platform for future customers.
“I’ve actually been building that and working on it every day and I will be opening that up for purchasing soon,” Turrentine said.
