With the push for social distance in full effect, businesses are being forced into a difficult position; stay open and invite spreading the coronavirus or close some operations and lose money.
Instead, some have found way around instead of social distance, think local distance.
“A consumer can go on today order from 15,000 plus skews of OTC products which are your over the counter products and get their prescriptions whether it's a Walgreens, a CVS, a local independent, it doesn't matter,” Drugstore2door founder AJ Asgari said.
Asgari is an Oklahoma-based, on-demand pharmacy delivery system handles everything from over the counter medicine, prescriptions and video visits, without ever risking being exposed or exposing someone else to the coronavirus.
“The system goes in much like an Uber Eats would,” he said.
Food delivery apps like Door Dash and Postmates are offering door drop off delivery from dozens of local restaurants with the option of drop off and curbside delivery
Places like Elemental Coffee, normally packed with laptops and conversation, are choosing to sit empty asking customers to instead order beforehand for a quick pick-up pick-me-up.
