A man released from prison just five days ago is now the suspect in a murder investigation.
Tulsa Police believe Mitchell Folsom stabbed another man, Jimmy Johnson, to death near Apache and Lewis.
Despite a lengthy criminal history of felony convictions dating back to 1995, Folsom was released on parole after serving six months of a three-year sentence for having a stolen vehicle.
Police believe Mitchell Folsom got into a fight with Jimmy Johnson, then pulled a knife and stabbed him. Police were called to a home in the area and found Johnson stabbed in the chest.
After talking to witnesses, detectives say Johnson and Folsom got into an altercation which led to the stabbing.
“I think this is just a standing feud between these two people, says Lt. Brandon Watkins with Tulsa Police Homicide.
Lt. Watkins says they’ve been talking to several witnesses who were in the area to get a better idea about what happened.
”There were actually quite a few witnesses, says Watkins. “Some had left the scene. We are trying to track them down as well.”
Records show Folsom has been in and out of prison since 1995 for drugs, burglary, stealing cars, and resisting arrest.
Folsom started serving a three-year sentence in October for having a stolen vehicle and was put on parole last week.
