Jones Police Confirm 1 Person Killed In Overnight Apartment Fire

Firefighter battled a deadly apartment fire, Monday morning in Jones.

According to authorities, firefighters responded to the fire around 2:30 a.m at the Oak Forest Apartments near East Britton Road and North Hiwassee Road.

Jones police said one person has died and and another person is severely burned and has been transported to a local hospital.

Six apartment units in one building were damaged.

Neighbors believe a dog also died in the fire.
