2 Men Arrested, Accused Of Making Riot Threat Against NW OKC Target

Oklahoma City police said they arrested two men Thursday night in connection with a social media video threatening to start a riot at a local Target store.

Oklahoma City police said there is no credible threat that the suspects actually planned to start a riot at the Target on Northwest Expressway and North May Avenue. When they were arrested, police said they were high on cough syrup and had a gun in the car.

 “Hey, pull up. I’m finna go start this riot at Target on Expressway,” said a suspect in the Facebook Live video.

 Officers said the suspects were arrested in the Big Lots parking lot off of Northwest 63rd and Expressway. That’s just a couple blocks away from the Target.

 According to the video, it appears the alleged “riot” was in response to the Minneapolis protests over George Floyd’s death while in police custody.

“Talking about justice for homeboy. You know what I’m saying? But y’all ain't pulling up to the Target,” said one of the suspects. “Okay okay, let the police step on yo brotha’s neck then.”

Right now it’s unclear if the suspects will be charged.
