Vacation is all about unplugging from the normal hum of your life, changing up the scenery and falling into a new world, but you don't have to leave Green Country to find it.

"With all that is happening nationally, there is a sense of rediscovery in what you have within a day's drive," said Gathering Place Park Director Tony Moore.

Gathering Place is 100 worlds in one. The world-class park is free to the public and sits on more than 66 acres.

"We love the swings so much," 11-Year-Old Kylie said.

The park has playgrounds, sports courts, a skate park, trails, gardens and beaches.

"Whoa! Are we in Tulsa, Oklahoma?" asked visitor Jean Winfrey.

There's even a zipline, offering lots of fun for all ages.

But if you need a break from the heat, check out Keystone Lake. Between the 200-acres of pools, water slides, camping grounds and lake inflatables at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, there are also boat rentals.

"People can social distance, and they can do it on their boat," said Keystone Harbor owner Ron Howell.

His restaurant also has a rooftop bar.

And when the Oklahoma heat gets too intense, take a break and grab a bite to eat and rehydrate at Mad Eats in Owasso. This restaurant is dishing out a delicious menu full of classics, all with a unique twist. You won't want to leave without grabbing yourself a mad shake. The shakes are named after two classic movies, The Goonies and The Outsiders. It's the perfect summer sugar rush and the shakes aren't just for kids. There are boozy ones too, like the Pony Boy Bourbon with candied bacon on top.

You can also take a vacation that gives you a new perspective and takes you to new heights. Climb Tulsa has over 20,000 square feet of climbing wall, not to mention training equipment and a yoga room. But don't worry, this isn't just a place for experienced rock climbers and families are welcome.

"Climbing is for everyone," said employee Elliot Hett.

"I try to run but it is boring," one climber said. "This is so much more fun!"

Wherever you go, vacations are all about adventure, new memories and escape. If you live in Oklahoma, you don't always have to go far from home to have one. Enjoy your staycations!
