AMC Theatres announced Thursday that it will reopen two of its locations to moviegoers in Oklahoma City for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in the metro.
As a part of what the company called "the first part" of a "phased reopening plan," the AMC theatres at Penn Square Mall and Quail Springs Mall will reopen on Aug. 20.
The company's plan is also an effort to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Guests at Penn Square Mall and Quail Springs Mall can enjoy flicks at 1920 prices of $0.15 plus sales tax.
The company said it has initiated a "Safe and Clean" initiative to ensure customer safety. The initiative includes what AMC Theatres calls a "significant reduction" in the amount of tickets available in order for social distancing to take place.
