OKLAHOMA CITY -

Stillwater police and fire departments were dispatched Thursday night after an abandoned kayak and kayak gear were found in the north end of Boomer Lake. They said they found the body of 28-year-old Blake McSparrin around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

McSparrin's death has been ruled a drowning. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Dive Team assisted in the search.

Authorities said the kayak and kayak gear belonged to McSparrin. His family confirmed that the kayak and kayak gear belonged to McSparrin.

The family told authorities that they had not had any contact with McSparrin since 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
