Oklahoma City police are searching for a gunman following a triple shooting near a strip mall. It happened Sunday morning near Southwest 59th Street and South Agnew Avenue.
According to police, around 100 people were gathered late Saturday for a birthday party when an argument escalated and shots were fired. The three people were transported to Southwest Medical Center.
Hunter Turner worked next door to where the shooting took place.
“It’s very concerning, because it's not just us that's in the shop, we have patients that come in,” Turner said. “Bullets go through walls. Bullets don't stop until they find something to stop it.”
One neighbor, who lives down the street from the event center, recalled hearing several shots ring out.
“It's scary because I have a kid and a fiancé and I can't let her go anywhere by herself or let my son play outside,” resident Jim Green said.
According to police, the victims were all shot from the waist down and are expected to be OK.
Turner said he's seen large gatherings in this area before but never suspected anything like this to happen.
“It's really surprising because it's families that are at these parties,” Turner said. “They actually hold these parties every weekend. They're family events. We converse with the adults.”
There is no suspect description at this time, but police said they're looking for a grey or silver Chevrolet pickup. This is still an active investigation.
If you have more information, you're asked to call the Oklahoma City Police Department.
