The Edmond Fire Department is hoping to teach kids important safety information completely virtually.

The department has put together 10 lessons that include videos and activities created to engage kids and their whole family. They can be found online or using a downloadable app.

Firefighters said they created the challenge because they care about their community and want to stop any dangerous situations that could be preventable.

"We encourage the kids hey you can be junior firefighters, you can be a hero, you can help save your family by having working smoke alarms and here's where you need to install them," Capt. Jacob Stangl said.

Anyone with Internet access can use the lesson. More information can be found on the City of Edmond's official website.
