Bethany Man In Custody After 2-Hour-Long Standoff With Police

A Bethany man is in custody following a 2-hour long standoff on Saturday.

According to police, they were called to an apartment complex at NW 38th and Hammon after they say a man went into this apartment complex trying to hurt his mother with a knife. The woman was able to escape with minor cuts and bruises.

When police arrived the man was barricaded inside and the Oklahoma County Sheriff's office was called out to assist. Police were able to place the suspect into custody after a couple hours. Officials say no one else was injured during the standoff and they expect to file charges next week.
