In a message to parents, Vinita Public Schools confirmed that a high school student has tested positive for COVID-19.
In the letter, VPS asks parents to pick up their children from school if possible.
The district plans to transition high school classes to distance learning with most students at home while those without Internet access will still attend school on-site.
School leaders have not stated how long the switch to distance learning will be in place, but they did say that this decision only applies to the high school. Read the full message here.
