Two of the top teams in the state square off Friday night in our game of the week: Jenks and Bixby.
There’s one Trojans player who could very well be all over the field.
The last matchup between these two teams is a game that Jenks hopes to never repeat. It was a 57-7 loss at the hands of the Bixby Spartans at Alan Trimble Stadium
"They killed us,” senior Griffin Forbes said. “This is our year. We think and we really hope great things can happen this year."
"When you play a great football teams it’s always exciting,” Head Coach Keith Riggs said. “Your kids look forward to it they can't wait to get out and play the game."
With a big match looming, Forbes might be the perfect player to take the field for Coach Riggs.
"He is just willing to whatever he has to do to help the team I'm really excited for him in his senior year,” Riggs said.
The senior is playing three positions: running back, free safety and wide receiver. He might not be lighting up the highlight reel, but he is the player that Riggs has leading this team on Friday nights.
"He is kind of the epitome of a Jenks Trojan, kids that work hard and they patiently wait for the opportunity,” Riggs said.
His versatility is not only evident in football, he also is a three-time captain for Jenks Lacrosse team.
"I've been playing lacrosse since I was in fourth grade, my family kind of helped start it in Tulsa area,” Forbes said.
