The month of September is national Hunger Action Month. There are activities and action plans available through the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma for the entire month to help bring awareness to the need for help. New projections from Feeding America show that 1 in 5 Oklahomans will struggle to get enough to eat during the pandemic and the need is even greater for Oklahoma children.
One way to get involved this month is to participate in Hunger Action Day on September 10th. On this day, you’re encouraged to wear orange, the color of hunger awareness, and spread the word about Hunger Action Month on social media. Businesses and individuals are also encouraged to light up their buildings and homes orange to help bring awareness to the cause.
