A multi-million dollar project will start on the Pensacola Dam Bridge at Grand Lake.
The $14 million rehab project should be finished by next summer.
The goal of the project is to repair the deck and bridge structure at the Pensacola Dam Bridge in Mayes County and at two spillway bridges
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Grand River Dam Authority will be in charge of the repairs.
Starting Monday, State Highway 28 will close at the dam to allow work to begin.
All the east and westbound lanes will be closed between Langley and Disney until the summer of 2021.
Traffic will open back up once work is finished at State Highway 28 and the Pensacola Dam Bridge next summer and from there the two State Highway 28 bridges at the spillway will close to traffic.
Once finished two State Highway 28 bridges at the spillway will close to traffic, however, the same detours will still be in place for that phase of the project.
