Former City Clerk Of Hartshorne Pleads Guilty To Embezzling City Funds

The former city clerk of Hartshorne in Muskogee County pleaded guilty to using more than a million dollars in city funds for personal purchases.

An investigation by the state auditor’s office revealed 47-year-old Dawn Dunkin used the city’s credit card to buy Thunder tickets, a cruise and more than $1,000 in Christmas decorations.

Dunkin was charged after an FBI investigation into the mishandled funds. Dunkin faces up to ten years in prison.
