Oklahoma State University has launched a new research institute to explore a variety of medical therapies for both human and animals.

The program is called the "Institute for Translational and Emerging Research in Advanced Comparative Therapy," or "INTERACT."

According to officials, INTERACT is focused on developing medical discoveries for diseases that can affect both animals and humans.

The institute will conduct parallel investigations with animal and human patients simultaneously.
