Hundreds of violent protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol Wednesday as Congress was in session to count the Electoral votes confirmed the 2020 election.

A curfew is in effect in Washington DC that started at 6 p.m., although many rioters are still out in defiance of the curfew.

Our Washington D.C. bureau chief Alex Cameron reports that Capitol police are evacuating the Cannon House Office Building in Washington D.C.

Alex said no explanation was given other than it being related to the protest groups that are outside of the Capitol.

The Associated Press reports that the U.S. Capitol is on lockdown and lawmakers are inside.

The AP also reports supporters of President Trump are clashing with police near the Capitol.

Senator Jim Inhofe alerted followers of his safety and urged protesters to stop.
