The Broken Arrow Police Department said officers responded to a call around 10:45 p.m. Saturday at the Rose Event Center on Main Street.

When officers arrived, they saw Bob Wedel on the floor with a gunshot wound to his chest.

"They worked on a 68-year-old male at the scene, transported him to the hospital and he died several hours later," Broken Arrow police officer Chris Walker said.

Wedel's family members said they are distraught and devastated at his sudden death.

Police also said two 19-year-old females are currently being treated for injuries they also sustained from the chaos.

One of them had a gunshot wound while the other had a shrapnel wound.

"It escalated from a fistfight or a pushing match into shots fired," Walker said. "And ultimately, at least two people hit with gunfire."

Walker said a private party for a woman’s 21st birthday at the venue when shots rang out.

"This was a larger private gathering and there should be a lot of eyewitnesses with it," Walker said.

The investigation is still ongoing but have several leads that could help authorities identify a suspect.
