Tulsa Police said a man and his uncle were arrested after breaking into an apartment near 81st and Delaware. Police said the apartment belonged to the mother of the suspect’s child.
The victim called police after the suspect broke in through the balcony door. She told police the suspect forced his way in because she was not returning his phone calls.
A police report stated the suspect pistol-whipped and then fired a shot at another person who was inside of the apartment while the mother was in a different room. Once the suspect came into contact with the mother, police said he hit her and threatened to shoot her.
Police said the suspect slashed her tires and fled the scene with their child. Tulsa Police said an officer spotted and pulled over the suspect’s vehicle at the QuikTrip near 61st and Lewis.
The suspect has been identified as Antonyo Thomas, 19. He was arrested and now faces charges including first-degree burglary, kidnapping and shooting with intent to kill.
Tulsa Police also arrested the uncle of the suspect, Brian Woodson. They said he was at the scene when the burglary happened and was in possession of the gun that was fired.
Woodson faces charges related to having possession of the gun and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Tulsa Police said the child was safely reunited with the mother.
