The legal team for a 15-year-old that was killed by police back in November is pushing to get bodycam video of the shooting.
Stavian Rodriguez's team will be holding a news conference in regard to it OKC City Hall at 10 a.m. Tuesday. It will include Stavian Rodriguez's mother, Cameo Holland, her legal team, and a number of community leaders.
Police confronted Rodriguez on the scene of an alleged gas station robbery. Officers say they shot the 15-year-old after he failed to follow commands.
Rodriguez's legal team says they submitted an Outstanding Records request for the bodycam footage in December, but they say so far they have no video and no explanation on why it hasn't been released.
The legal team believes the city and police have had enough time to look at the footage, saying in part, "The City is not in compliance with the Oklahoma Open Records Act. Please resolve this matter expeditiously."
