News On 6 is getting an exclusive look inside how Tulsa's Saint Francis Hospital is giving out the COVID-19 vaccine.

Employees said they’re able to vaccinate hundreds of people a day with minimal waiting and no complaints.

"Fast and easy,” said Doris Murphy, after she got her second Pfzier shot in minutes. “I've had so many of my friends go to the Expo and had to stand in line, and this has been great,” Doris added.

"This is been kind of smooth,” said Doris’ husband Walter, who also got his first shot a few days ago.

Same goes for Eillen Simmons. "It's very smooth very well organized no waiting just drive through and get the shot,” Simmons told News On 6.

On average, 400 to 500 people people a day are getting vaccinated. The process is simple. You pull up, fill out paperwork, get the vaccine in one of the two locations, then wait for 15 minutes. From start to finish, It took me a little over 20 minutes total.

"Everyone has really rolled up their sleeves; we got to take this on,” said Steve Davis, the Executive Director of the Warren Clinic.

Davis said this process was first used for flu vaccines back in November, so his staff has had months to practice. Everything was going so well, they partnered with the Tulsa Health Department to give out COVID vaccines.

Dr. Dart with the Tulsa Health Department said in a statement:

“The Tulsa Health Department is incredibly grateful to Saint Francis Health System for the partnership to receive, store and administer the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible community members. Throughout the pandemic response, it is the collective efforts of our public health and health care systems that have contributed to lives saved in Tulsa County.”

The clinic started in December vaccinating first responders and front line workers, but have now expanded to Warren patients 65 and older.

"Our ultimate goal is if we can push out about 1,000 vaccines a day--that is really where we need to be,” said Davis.

Saint Francis opened three other vaccine sites in town and will have three additional sites next week.

Saint Francis said they reached a milestone yesterday. For the first time since the pandemic, they had more people receive the vaccine than patients who got a COVID-19 test.
