The Oklahoma County courthouse is in turmoil Friday after a district judge was suspended and reportedly resigned.
Judge Tim Henderson's sudden resignation came after three female attorneys accused him of sexual misconduct.
Henderson will have to turn in his official resignation to the Governor Stitt’s office. Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater is investigating the accusations of criminal sexual assault and misconduct, according to NonDoc.
“I think it’s the worst kept secret in the Oklahoma County courthouse,” attorney Irven Box said.
Box was not surprised when news came out that Henderson abruptly resigned. Box said three female attorneys in the District Attorney's office came forward with sexual misconduct allegations by Henderson.
“There were some rumors that these were going on for life two or three years ago,” Box said.
Judge Ray Elliott filed two orders on Friday suspending Henderson from overseeing court dockets and his supervisor role. Henderson has been an Oklahoma County District Judge since 2012 and served as the judge over the state's multi-county grand jury.
Henderson presided over several high-profile criminal cases including convicted serial rapist and former Oklahoma City Police Officer Daniel Holtzclaw.
Box believes other convictions made in Henderson's courtroom involving any of the alleged female victims will now come into question.
“I think every case the district attorney had down there,” Box said. “I think (it) should be reversed and sent back to where we have a fair and impartial judge and district attorneys that aren’t under the influence of the judge himself.”
The Governor’s office has not yet received the judge’s resignation letter.
