New shocking details change the story surrounding the death of Ada pastor Dave Evans. Investigators said he was shot as part of a murder plot involving his wife.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Evans' wife went to the Ada police department Thursday morning. Investigators said she told them a new story about her husband's murder.

News 9 obtained the 911 call Kristie Evans made after her husband was shot.

Dispatch: You think someone shot your husband?

Kristie Evans: Yes.

911 Dispatch: OK.

Kristie Evans: He's lying in a pool of blood.

Kristie Evans: Oh my god.

911 Dispatch: It's OK babe, it's OK.

At first, Kristie Evans told police a stranger killed her husband then vanished.

Kristie Evans: I woke up to a loud pop.

911 Dispatch: You woke up to a loud pop?

Kristie Evans: Yeah.

Three days later, investigators heard a different story.

"She said that she and Kahlil Square had planned this," said Captain Beth Green with the OSBI. "She laid in bed till she heard Kahlil come into the house. She talked with him briefly in the living room and she stayed in the living room."

Then the OSBI said Square went into the bedroom and shot Evans, with Evans’ own gun. Agents said the late pastor was asleep and defenseless.

But the OSBI said the night of the killing wasn't the first time David, his wife, and Square had been together.

"Kristie and Kahlil they had an intimate relationship. A sexual relationship, and it was also a sexual relationship that involved David at one point as well," said Green.

Square was also familiar to police. Court records show he had two prior convictions in Cleveland County. While the OSBI said Kristie Evans admitted to killing her husband, agents were close to connecting Square to the shooting.

"Neighbors reported that they had seen a white Mustang in the area and over at that house for several days," said Green.

Investigators said that car was registered to Square. When asked about a motive, Kristie told officers her husband was verbally abusive.

Just days before the shooting, on her Facebook page, she shows gifts David surprised her with, even calling him her "best friend" and "cutie."

Law enforcement arrested Square near Newalla late Thursday night. While Kristie was booked into custody shortly after police said she confessed. Both are being held on murder complaints.
