An Oklahoma City police sergeant was put on administrative leave Saturday after he was charged with domestic assault and battery.
The sergeant, identified as seven-and-a-half year veteran Kristopher Gellenbeck, was arrested after authorities determined that "a physical confrontation occurred causing visible injuries to the officer's wife."
The Oklahoma City Police Department's Domestic Violence Unit was notified of the domestic abuse case, which occurred at a northwest Oklahoma City residence on Friday.
Gellenbeck was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on one count of domestic assault and battery.
