Tulsa Police arrested a man accused of beating his 70-year-old stepfather to death and then staging the crime scene.

According to authorities, Edward Johnson was found dead in his front yard on E 21st Street. Police said Johnson appears to have been beaten to death. Tulsa Police have confirmed that Johnson's stepson 28-year-old Somsai Harchareun has been arrested for first-degree murder.

An arrest report shows that Harchareun not only admitted to killing his stepdad but also told detectives he staged the crime scene. Police say when they got to the house at around 1:30 Monday morning, they found Johnson dead and found a garden hoe with blood on it. The arrest report says when investigators interviewed the stepson, he told them he had his stepdad got into an argument early in the day, and that he killed the victim. The report also says he told investigators he hid the victim on the side of the house, then moved the body again before calling the police.

Harchareun has been booked into the Tulsa County jail for first-degree murder.

This is a developing story.
