Multiple city council and school board seats will be decided across different northeastern Oklahoma communities as voters head to the polls on Tuesday. Some places have millions of dollars in bond issues at stake.
City council seats are up for grabs in cities including Broken Arrow, Glenpool, Jenks, Skiatook, Vinita, Claremore, Catoosa, Wagoner and Coweta. School board races are on ballots for districts including Tulsa, Owasso, Sand Springs, Union, Berryhill, McAlester and Sperry.
In Creek County, voters will decide on a 1/6 of a cent sales tax to support volunteer fire departments.
Bartlesville voters will determine if a 1/4 of a cent sales tax will be extended to support economic development.
Midway Public Schools will have a proposition for a more than $2.7 million bond to build a new cafeteria and storm shelter for students. In Bixby, voters will decide the fate of four different bond issues totaling more than $28.5 million towards areas including parks and public safety.
