Drivers in Edmond will want to avoid the intersection at 33rd Street and Kelly Avenue as construction begins on a new project Wednesday.
The City of Edmond says at first it won't cause too many problems with traffic, but as they get going, this intersection will be reduced to one lane in all directions.
The project is expected to last for around four months.
Crews are replacing the concrete panels replaced at the intersection, which the city says have deteriorated over time.
Normally a busy intersection during the day, the city of Edmond says the project will cause significant delays. Drivers will need to take extra time getting to where they need to go or find alternate routes.
The city says to avoid the construction all together, take Broadway or Santa Fe north and south, or Memorial or 15th street, east and west.
