Bald Eagle Nest Confirmed Near Lake Of The Arbuckles

The first bald eagle nest within Chickasaw National Recreation Area has been confirmed by the National Weather Service.

The Murray County game warden and staff were notified of the nest after a park visitor reported the sighting. Park staff reported the eagle pair had successfully hatched two healthy baby eagles.  

NPS said the park staff is monitoring the nest.

The eaglets are expected to fledge soon, according to the report.
