Grand River Dam Authority Investigating Fatal Boating Crash

The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department is investigating a fatal boating incident on Grand Lake, south of Vinita near Scotty’s Cove.

Police said a boat collided with a breakwater in a no-wake zone with four people inside. When officers arrived they say three of the boat’s occupants were out of the boat and on the breakwater. GRDA says the fourth person was missing.

After a search, officers recovered the fourth person’s body at approximately 2 a.m. in 60 feet of water.

GRDA said this is an ongoing investigation. The name of the victim has not been released.

The body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Tulsa.
